Welcome, everyone, to The Brian Crombie Hour. Why am I doing these interviews? I’ve been doing them for five years now. Initially, I was invited because Saga 960 wanted to introduce diversity in political perspectives and bring someone with business experience and an economic orientation to the station. At first, I hosted one show a week, then two, and now five shows a week. Thanks to all of you, I’ve built a reasonable following, and I truly appreciate your support.

The station also wanted someone who could conduct longer, more in-depth interviews. My shows run for a full hour (minus commercials), giving me about 47-50 minutes to dive deep into topics. They also wanted someone provocative, who could make their own arguments and push the envelope with both the introductory and closing remarks and through in-depth questioning during the interviews. Here’s how I typically structure my week: early in the week, my interviews are politically focused. As the week progresses, I shift toward business and economic topics—often with an emphasis on real estate development, biotech, and high-tech, areas where I have professional experience and interest. Toward the end of the week, I explore lifestyle and the arts. My background as the former President of the Mississauga Arts Council and my early career with The Walt Disney Company instilled in me a love for the arts, both as a cultural treasure and as a business. I believe in creating sustainable, economically viable ventures in every field, including the arts.

What do I aim to achieve? I strive to bring on interesting, topical, and provocative guests. I make it a point to represent diverse viewpoints, even when I disagree with them. I ask probing, sometimes provocative questions to encourage my guests to elaborate on their positions. This approach applies equally to guests whose views align with mine; the goal is always to explore their perspectives in depth. I also focus on uncovering personal stories. Everyone has a "signature story"—something that defines who they are and fuels their passions. By delving into these stories, I aim to foster connection and trust between my guests and you, the listeners. Personal narratives reveal motivations and experiences that help explain why people hold the beliefs they do, making discussions more relatable and compelling.

The long-form interview format allows me to explore these stories in a way that shorter interviews or sound bites simply cannot. While some may find the intensity of these conversations overwhelming, my guests are often eager to open up, sharing their passions and insights. That’s what makes this show unique.

You can catch me Monday through Friday at 6 PM on Saga 960 AM. If you miss a show, you can find recordings on podcast platforms, YouTube, and social media. I’m committed to connecting with you, my audience. My goal is to challenge established beliefs, spark thought-provoking conversations, and occasionally share my own views to encourage reflection and dialogue.

Over the past five years, I’ve hosted more than 3,000 shows, interviewed over 4,000 people, and reached an estimated 20,000 listeners. I’m incredibly grateful for your continued support—whether you listen, watch, comment, suggest guests, or engage with me in any way. This community thrives on interaction, so please don’t hesitate to reach out via my website, brian.com, where you can watch past interviews and share your thoughts or suggestions.

I firmly believe that we can create a better world, community, and Canada by listening, expressing our views, and engaging in thoughtful discussions—not just debates. Let’s work together to share and contemplate diverse perspectives. Through dialogue, we can uncover the best ideas and solutions. I’m excited about what’s ahead. Big changes could be on the horizon, and I look forward to covering them with you—whether through interviews or discussions. Thank you for tuning in to The Brian Crombie Hour. Have a great night, everyone!
